History
The Janesville Assembly plant was constructed in 1919 with production of the Sampson Tractor (displayed in Heritage Hall, courtesy of Rock Co. Historical Society). In 1942, automobile production ceased to begin conversion to produce artillery shells for the war; a record setting output of over 16 million shells.
