Kyklos Bearing International - KBI Sandusky Operations
Formed in May 2008 when its parent company, HHI, purchased the Hayes Avenue facility from Delphi Automotive, KBI's health is almost entirely reliant on that of the automotive industry - General Motors in particular. There are nearly 600 hourly employees and about 200 salaried employees at the plant, though there were more than 100 layoffs in early 2009. Company officials say they’re hopeful the automotive industry will stabilize in coming months, which would usher in the return of most of those laid-off workers.
