Front Porch: Mudslide halts passenger rail service until Thursday

A mudslide has temporarily canceled passenger train service between Everett and Seattle. BNSF Railway spokesman Gus Melonas said a mudslide at about 3 p.m. Tuesday covered the main line with 20 feet of mud, trees and debris. Crews are working to clear the tracks and a nearby ditch.
