My backyard tabebuia tree has bloomed all its yellow blooms this spring and is now covered with the seed pods that look a little like giant green beans. Without its glory of blossoms, it's tall and gawky compared with the postcard-perfect trees that light up Central Florida each spring. In 2004, Hurricane Charley's winds lashed it up and down against our power lines like a whip.
